Esta dissertação analisa o impacto do estatuto jurídico do casamento e do contexto socioeconómico dos cônjuges nos conflitos conjugais na comuna de Cocody (Costa do Marfim). O estudo, que envolveu 80 casais, utilizou um questionário e entrevistas semi-estruturadas para a recolha de dados. Os resultados revelam que o estatuto jurídico do casamento não influencia significativamente o conflito, enquanto o contexto socioeconómico desempenha um papel crucial. Os casais de meios desfavorecidos apresentam tensões acrescidas devido a pressões financeiras e sociais. Por outro lado, os recursos económicos em ambientes favorecidos reduzem os conflitos. A síntese sublinha que as mudanças socioculturais e económicas, bem como a individualização dos casais, exacerbam os conflitos conjugais, ameaçando a estabilidade familiar.
