Esta investigação examina o impacto da violência doméstica no desenvolvimento da personalidade das crianças, centrando-se especificamente nas tendências destrutivas das crianças com idades compreendidas entre os 5 e os 7 anos, um período crítico para a formação da personalidade. O estudo coloca a hipótese de que as crianças expostas à violência doméstica apresentam mais tendências destrutivas, incluindo agressão, ansiedade e atitudes negativas em relação aos pais, em comparação com as crianças de famílias não violentas. Os métodos de investigação combinam uma abordagem interdisciplinar, utilizando testes projectivos (Cactus, Rene Gilles e Children’s Apperception Test), descrições verbais e situações experimentais. O estudo compara dois grupos: um grupo de estudo de 10 crianças de centros de crise e um grupo de controlo. Utilizando métodos matemático-estatísticos, incluindo o teste t de Student, a investigação encontra diferenças significativas entre os grupos em termos de agressão, ansiedade, privação e desconfiança. As crianças provenientes de ambientes violentos apresentam níveis mais elevados destas tendências. Estes resultados sublinham a necessidade de intervenção e de medidas preventivas para abordar e reduzir os comportamentos agressivos em crianças expostas à violência doméstica.
