Este estudo avaliou o impacto da migração rural-urbana na cidade de Gboko, no estado de Benue. Especificamente, o estudo analisou as caraterísticas socioeconómicas dos migrantes na cidade de Gboko, analisou os efeitos da migração rural-urbana e identificou medidas para a reduzir. O estudo baseou-se na teoria Push-Pull, na teoria da nova economia da migração laboral e na teoria da escolha racional. O estudo adoptou o método de investigação por inquérito, utilizando um questionário como instrumento de recolha de dados. A dimensão da amostra de 400 foi determinada utilizando a fórmula de Taro Yamane a partir da população estimada de 488 162 inquiridos. O estudo utilizou as técnicas de amostragem estratificada, intencional e aleatória simples para selecionar os inquiridos para o estudo.
