A calagem é uma das medidas adoptadas para ajustar a acidez do solo das terras agrícolas. A adoção da tecnologia de calagem tem vindo a ser praticada há dez anos na Etiópia para atenuar o problema. Mesmo que o problema exista, um número significativo de agricultores não consegue adotar a tecnologia da forma esperada. Assim, o estudo tentou avaliar os factores demográficos, socioeconómicos e institucionais determinantes da adoção da tecnologia de calagem e examinou o seu efeito causal no rendimento das culturas dos agricultores.
