Introduzione: I presupposti di questo breve libro sono puramente riflessivi, il mio obbiettivo è quello di stimolare una discussione più ampia sia tra gli addetti ai lavori che tra le persone troppo impegnate in altre cose della vita. Mi sono sempre posto il problema del rapporto che si instaura con il territorio, spesso girando in treno piuttosto che in macchina o a piedi la nostra è una percezione dinamica, variabile , anche quando stiamo fermi il contorno è sempre in movimento. Ora vorrei chiarire meglio il titolo del libro, chi è il pastore? Siamo noi quando mettiamo radici in un determinato luogo; l'astronauta per contro rappresenta il forestiero che non ha ancora instaurato un legame duraturo con i luoghi.
