Fin dall’inizio l’uomo, in quanto essere di linguaggio, è anche un essere 'di carne e di sangue'. Pertanto, è conosciuto come un essere di carne e linguaggio. Per pensare alla soggettività, dobbiamo pensarla come un territorio, formato da due domini: corpo e linguaggio. È a partire dal corpo che possiamo scoprire la concretezza dell’uomo. È dalla lingua che possiamo inviargli un indirizzo, una convocazione e anche rispondere a questo indirizzo. Il nuovo umanesimo, l’umanesimo dell’altro uomo, è così del corpo e del linguaggio, come le sue due mani dell’umile creatura, è affidato alla responsabilità per sé e per gli altri. L’esperienza del corpo e del linguaggio sono i due pilastri che ci permettono di pensare alla relazione interumana, necessaria per un’esperienza di trascendenza e al suo significato.
