Riconoscere la diversità del mondo globalizzato rende il consumo del corpo culturale un grande paradosso. Questo perché, mentre le società moderne cercano di accettare le differenze, cercano anche di mascherarle. Pertanto, riflettere sul concetto di guarigione all’interno delle società consente di avviare nuove discussioni in materia di salute, creando strumenti basati sull’ascolto, sul dialogo, sul rispetto della cultura, sulle esperienze individuali, sulle rappresentazioni collettive del corpo e sullo scambio di informazioni tra individui e professionisti della salute. Questi professionisti, che curano in fisioterapia o plasmano il corpo in educazione fisica, permettono di trasformare il rapporto delle persone con se stesse, ponendo l’accento sulla promozione della salute e della cura di sé e non solo sull’apparenza.
