Die Wahrnehmung der Landwirte wird genutzt, um die wichtigsten Herausforderungen, mögliche Abhilfemaßnahmen zur Überwindung der Herausforderungen und die Aussichten für die Anwendung von IKT bei der Beschaffung von Reis zu ermitteln. Die Triangulation der im Rahmen der Studie gesammelten qualitativen und quantitativen Daten ergab einen klaren Bedarf und einen großen Spielraum für die Verbesserung des derzeitigen Systems der Reisbeschaffung. Die Meinungen in den KIIs und FGDs ergaben die Aussicht auf einen ganzheitlichen Ansatz für ein effektives Paddy-Beschaffungssystem, insbesondere auf der Grundlage der Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologie (IKT). Dies wird durch die quantitativen Ergebnisse gestützt, die zeigen, dass 94,30 % der Befragten eine Verbesserung des derzeitigen Systems für notwendig halten und 99,0 % der Meinung sind, dass ein IKT-gestütztes Paddy-Beschaffungssystem dazu beitragen wird, die Herausforderungen zu bewältigen. Außerdem haben 80,50 % der Befragten Zugang zu Mobiltelefonen und können das Internet nutzen, was ihre Bereitschaft für ein IKT-gestütztes System verdeutlicht. Diese Ergebnisse haben mich dazu veranlasst, ein IKT-gestütztes Paddy-Beschaffungssystem vorzuschlagen, das die Aktivitäten der Paddy-Beschaffung für alle, auch für die Landwirte, transparenter machen wird.
