Diese nimmt sich der Band vor: Anhand von Fallstudien zur Programmatik, Praxis und Deutung des Hundeeinsatzes an Schulen wird nach seiner möglichen pädagogischen Bedeutung gefragt. Durch die Analysen zeigt sich jedoch, dass ihm keinerlei pädagogische Idee innewohnt. Angesichts dieses Befundes erscheint aufklärungsbedürftig, wieso der Einsatz von Hunden in Schule und Unterricht, obschon als a-pädagogisch einzuschätzen, in Theorie und Praxis derart auf Anklang stößt.
