Nous analyserons le gouvernement de l’ancien président vénézuélien Hugo Chávez (1999 - 2013). Notre source sera le magazine Veja et les représentations qu’il a produites sur le gouvernement Chávez dans ses éditions de 1999 à 2013. Nous chercherons à comprendre non seulement le gouvernement et la figure politique de Chávez, mais aussi la manière dont les médias analysent, interprètent et représentent un gouvernement. Quelles circonstances dans le passé ont fait que son gouvernement a eu une telle répercussion sur la scène politique brésilienne et mondiale, divisant l’opinion. Les études sur le politique et son renouveau dans l’historiographie, les débats et discussions sur le champ des Représentations et les analyses des médias fourniront un appui théorique et méthodologique à notre recherche. Nous analyserons les études sur le concept de Représentation . Nous ferons un bref historique des médias et nous verrons comment les médias, dans notre cas le magazine Veja, exposent leurs informations sur un gouvernement et sur le politicien , en construisant un champ symbolique dans lequel les représentations produisent des significations. Nous comprenons ainsi comment les médias représentent et créent une position qui tend à être favorable ou défavorable à un gouvernement.
