L’origine de l’université, dans certains cas, est tracée uniquement dans la vision occidentale (Europe), ignorant et oubliant la vision orientale (Asie) qui a généralement un développement plus avancé et structuré qui a permis une avancée étrangère au monde occidental. Il est important de dissiper l’idée que l’université a son origine dans le monde occidental, en prenant comme modèle de référence l’Académie platonicienne et/ou l’Université de Bologne en Italie au XIe siècle après J.-C. En fait, en Chine, en Inde et dans le monde arabe, l’université remonte à une période antérieure à l’Académie platonicienne. C’est la raison pour laquelle nous ferons l’historique du processus par lequel les différentes écoles et universités sont passées en ce qui concerne l’enseignement des humanités et des autres sciences.
