A writing retreat should be a place for quiet concentration and unbridled creativity, not confronting your irritating ex-classmate. And certainly not rekindling your little gay crush on them.Julia Fay has a looming deadline and severe writers’ block. She also hasn’t felt the touch of another woman in months and it’s starting to get to her.So, when writer-turned-model Mel Turner rocks up to the retreat unannounced, taking up space with her 6ft frame and husky voice, Julia finds herself utterly, frustratingly distracted.Which Mel finds delightful. Getting a rise out of Julia takes her mind off her recent breakup. Their nightly debates over dinner sparking something in Mel that she’s not felt for a long time. When the power goes out during a storm, Julia and Mel find themselves alone in the reading room, drawn together by their shared experience as writers. Discovering some unexpectedly creative ways to workshop novel ideas in the dark.
