Halbleiter sind eine Klasse von Materialien, deren elektrische Leitfähigkeit zwischen der eines Leiters und der eines Isolators liegt. Halbleiterbauelemente spielen eine zentrale Rolle in der Elektronik. Es gibt eine Vielzahl von Halbleiterbauelementen, nämlich: P-N-Verbindungsdiode, Transistor, LED, Fotodiode, FET, MOSFET, UJT, SCR, LDR, Logikgatter, Verstärker, Flip-Flop, Tunneldiode, PIN-Diode, Triacs, Diacs, Gleichrichter usw. Ohne Halbleiter können wir uns die Elektronik nicht vorstellen. Wenn ein drittes dotiertes Element zu einer Kristalldiode hinzugefügt wird, so dass zwei P-N-Übergänge entstehen, wird das resultierende Bauelement als Transistor bezeichnet. Halbleiterbauelemente werden sowohl in der IC- als auch in der digitalen Welt verwendet. Der BJT-Transistor ist ein sehr praktischer Transistor. Der Transistor wirkt als Verstärker.
