Michael Link stellt Ansätze der Entwicklungsforschung vor, welche aufzeigen, wie sich fachdidaktische Forschung mit der Weiterentwicklung von Unterrichtspraxis verbinden lässt. Sein Entwicklungsforschungsprojekt zur Förderung der sprachlichen Ausdrucksfähigkeit führt er am Beispiel des Beschreibens von Zahlenmustern in operativ strukturierten Übungen im Mathematikunterricht der Grundschule durch. Dabei wird der zyklische Prozess der Entwicklung von Unterrichtsaktivitäten, ihre Erprobung in Interviews und im Unterricht, der Analyse dieser Erprobungen sowie der darauf aufbauenden Überarbeitung der Unterrichtsaktivitäten exemplarisch umgesetzt und dokumentiert.
