Dies kann durch Gewebekulturtechniken mit kleinen Explantaten der gewünschten Pflanze erreicht werden. Gewebekulturtechniken werden häufig für die kommerzielle Produktion von Pflanzen sowie für die Pflanzenforschung eingesetzt.Die Explantate können in einem Nährmedium unter sterilen Bedingungen kultiviert werden. Durch die Verwendung geeigneter Wachstumsbedingungen für jeden Explantattyp können die Pflanzen dazu gebracht werden, schnell neue Triebe zu bilden, und durch die Zugabe von Wachstumshormonen können die Pflanzen geteilt werden. Diese Pflänzchen können auch geteilt werden, in der Regel im Sprossstadium, um eine große Anzahl neuer Pflänzchen zu erzeugen. Die neu regenerierten Pflanzen können dann zur Abhärtung in den Boden gebracht und auf normale Weise angezogen werden.
