Irene Tolzmann would make cookies to send to her friends and family every Christmas. In 1996 her grandson, Nathan Tolzmann, drew pictures of all the cookies she had sent in a box. Irene then wrote down all the recipes and, together, they made a cookbook of the 21 varieties she had baked that year. The first edition was a photocopied, hand-stapled pamphlet. This second edition includes all the recipes, the original introduction, and a new foreword by Nathan. The recipes range from simple no-bake cookies, to more complex multi-step ones.
