W obliczu złożonych wyzwań środowiskowych stojących przed społeczeństwem, promowanie troski o różne formy życia, szacunek dla ludzi i społeczeństw oraz rozwój obywatelstwa środowiskowego stały się ważnymi tematami w propozycjach pedagogicznych krajowych wytycznych programowych związanych z edukacją środowiskową. Zgodnie z Krajowymi Parametrami Programu Nauczania (PCN), formalna Edukacja Ekologiczna powinna być obecna na wszystkich poziomach edukacji i w sposób interdyscyplinarny. Jednak w niektórych szkołach edukacja ekologiczna nie jest nawet poruszana, a niewiele jest informacji na temat tych zlokalizowanych na obszarach wiejskich. W związku z tym celem niniejszego badania było zbadanie praktyk pedagogicznych ukierunkowanych na edukację środowiskową, które zostały opracowane w wiejskiej szkole w gminie Arapiraca-AL.
