A governação eletrónica é uma questão estratégica que diz respeito à reformulação do processo administrativo nacional a nível da elaboração de políticas, a fim de tornar o governo mais transparente, eficiente e orientado para os serviços. Os centros de serviços electrónicos são incapazes de criar uma coordenação estreita entre as várias agências governamentais, grupos empresariais ou cidadãos para alcançar os objectivos desejados. Assim, cria-se um fosso entre o governo e os seus principais interessados ou cidadãos. Este fosso está a aumentar gradualmente e os cidadãos perdem a sua confiança no governo. Através da utilização da governação eletrónica em diferentes sectores, os cidadãos do país podem obter o máximo de serviços e esta é uma questão vital no processo de administração do desenvolvimento. Este estudo procurou avaliar os centros distritais de serviços electrónicos (DESC) do Bangladesh em termos de prestação de serviços públicos e de adaptabilidade da governação eletrónica/tecnologia da comunicação da informação na administração distrital.
