Si valuta la performance commerciale e finanziaria del settore zootecnico colombiano dopo la crisi bilaterale Colombia-Venezuela tra il 2009 e il 2013. Viene utilizzata una metodologia mista che contestualizza la situazione del settore attraverso un’analisi statistica delle variabili esportazioni, importazioni, bilancia commerciale e PIL del settore zootecnico colombiano. Inoltre, sulla base di una matrice di analisi, vengono identificati gli effetti finanziari e commerciali della legislazione emanata dal governo colombiano per promuovere una migliore performance del settore nell’economia del Paese. Infine, viene effettuata un’applicazione teorica del modello di Balassa-Samuelson per determinare la produttività del Paese nel periodo di riferimento della ricerca. I risultati mostrano che l’effetto della crisi bilaterale sul settore zootecnico colombiano ha influito sulla sua performance commerciale e finanziaria, a causa della forte dipendenza commerciale del settore dal Venezuela.
