In the fall of 2011, I began having a series of recurring dreams about the game of baseball and I had no idea why. These dreams continued on for the next few years; so I decided to record them in a journal and not dismiss them as a coincidence or passing thought. I wanted to see if I could recognize a message or pattern. One day it came to me:1. I was to write a book2. The book would be tied to the game of baseball.3. I was to leave my place of employment I wish I could say I completed the book soon thereafter but that was not the case.Although I received a revelation to write the book, it was not done right away because I came up against challenges:1. I had never written a book and I had no idea what to do or where to start.2. I had a career that was demanding and required a great deal of my time.3. I allowed procrastination to get in the way.I tried to go on with life, business as usual and put the book on the back burner until what I thought was the right time. I realized the 'right time' to take action was as soon as I got the revelation. During the course of writing the book, I had several really nice jobs in the IT field; however the challenge with that was these jobs were very demanding and caused me to put the book on the back burner. I noticed a common pattern, every time I dove deep into my work and put the book on the back burner something would happen that would cause turbulence on my jobs until I left. It was like the story of Jonah when He avoided his assignment and boarded a ship. There was a great deal of turbulence on the ship for him as well as those around him. Jonah knew what was going on but those around him were unaware. During periods of time when I focused on my assignment there was always a sense of peace. This is something to think about when you choose to ignore the assignment and purpose for your life. By taking a leap of faith I was able to complete my assignment. When the book was complete I looked to God to see what He would have me to do next. I learned this lesson from Acts 9, when God called Saul.     6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the  city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do. (Acts 9:6; KJV)When the Lord called Saul he gave him an assignment:1.    Arise2.    Go into the cityThe Lord let Saul know once his assignment was complete it would be told to him what he must do. I applied this same analogy to the assignment God gave me. I trusted that once I completed my assignment God would reveal to me what I was to do next, and He did.
