La red de sensores inalámbricos (WSN) es un sistema formado por un gran número de nodos de sensores autónomos (alimentados por batería), con la capacidad de capturar información ambiental, con poca potencia de procesamiento, y la capacidad de comunicarse con otro de forma inalámbrica [3]. La tarea de capturar información ambiental se lleva a cabo a través de una serie de sensores que forman parte del nodo, y son capaces de medir las condiciones ambientales alrededor del sensor, como la temperatura, la humedad o la luz. El procesamiento de esta información ambiental revela ciertas características de los objetos situados alrededor del nodo y/o eventos que tienen lugar cerca del propio nodo.
