Ist es für einen Community-Radiosender (insbesondere bei Gesundheitsthemen) von Vorteil, wenn er in einer bestimmten Region ansässig ist, Mitglieder dieser Region zu seinem Team zählt und über diese Gemeinschaft berichtet und sich an sie wendet? In diesem Buch versucht der Autor, diese Fragen zu diskutieren und anhand einer Studie über einige Community-Radiosender im Bundesstaat São Paulo zu zeigen, dass das Medium Radio tatsächlich einen Unterschied im Gesundheitsprozess einer Gemeinschaft bewirken kann, indem es zur Prävention von Krankheiten und zur Gesundheitsförderung beiträgt und auch Debatten über Themen anregt, die sogar zur Protagonistenrolle dieser Gemeinschaft in Bezug auf die Gestaltung ihrer eigenen Geschichte beitragen können.
