Mit dem Wiederaufbau nach dem zweiten Weltkrieg beginnt das Wirtschaftswunder. Das Problem: in der jungen Bundesrepublik fehlt es an Arbeitskräften. Die damalige Bundesregierung beschließt ausländische Arbeitskräfte für befristete Arbeitsverhältnisse anzuwerben: Gastarbeiter.Diese Arbeit soll einen Überblick über die Gastarbeiterzuwanderung in der BR Deutschland bis zum Anwerbestopp geben. Grundlegend wird zur weiteren Erläuterung auf dazugehörige Wanderungsmodelle eingegangen. Insbesondere werden räumliche aber auch soziale Aspekte hervorgehoben.
