Sendo o navegador da Web a aplicação mais utilizada para a comunicação através da Internet, tornou-se um alvo vulnerável para os atacantes. Os honeyclients visitam e interagem com sites suspeitos para detetar e recolher informações sobre malware. Os links infetados são disseminados pelo atacante pela rede utilizando vários mecanismos, incluindo o e-mail. A malícia é disseminada pela rede através da inserção dos links infetados em e-mails de spam. O sistema proposto é capaz de interpretar e executar scripts de forma eficiente e pode detetar os códigos maliciosos gerados pelos scripts. As sementes são obtidas a partir dos e-mails de spam, devido à elevada probabilidade da sua existência nestes e-mails. O endereço de e-mail a ser analisado é fornecido como entrada pelo utilizador, juntamente com a palavra-passe. A pasta de Spam/Lixo Eletrónico do endereço de e-mail fornecido é acedida e o conteúdo de cada e-mail é analisado para detetar links maliciosos. O conteúdo é analisado utilizando o honeyclient, que analisa e examina o conteúdo descarregado em busca de malícia. Após a conclusão do processo de análise, o utilizador é informado sobre os e-mails que contêm qualquer link malicioso que possa afetar de alguma forma a segurança do sistema.
