Führung wird als ein Prozess betrachtet, bei dem eine oder mehrere Personen eine Gruppe von Personen beeinflussen, sich in eine bestimmte Richtung zu bewegen. Dies kann und hat oft einen starken Einfluss auf das soziale Klima in der Gruppe, und zwar durch die Art und Weise, wie die Führung ausgeübt wird, d. h. durch den sogenannten Führungsstil (Ekvall und Ryhammer, 1998). Es gibt keinen einzigen besten Führungsstil, d. h. was für eine Organisation effektiv ist, muss für eine andere nicht unbedingt effektiv sein (Boseman, 2008). Der Zweck dieser Studie war es, die wichtigsten Führungsansätze, -modelle und -theorien sowie Theorien zum Organisationsklima hervorzuheben und die Beziehungen zwischen ihnen aufzuzeigen.
