The historical stories are based on Early Explorations in the Americas, the Jamestown Colony of Virginia, Indians of the Americas, Colonial and U.S. history, and the U.S. Civil War. In writing stories about the Jamestown Colony of Virginia, I discovered that what happened to the Indians before the Colony was vital to understanding the European colonization of the Americas. The colonialists essentially had to take or buy the land from the Indians, who were not passive observers. The 'French and Indian War' led to the American Revolution, which was only won by the colonists with France’s financial and military aid. The U.S. Civil War was virtually a continuation of the U.S.-Mexican War in the 1840’s. These stories help the reader understand better what it means to be an American. The Genealogy Section is my research into my Champion (father) and Bonner (mother) ancestors who migrated from England in the 1600’s, and migrated from Virginia and North Carolina to Alabama and Mississippi. The use of DNA is developed into this research, with great future usefulness as an important tool for the modern historian. My special interest is to write 'fresh' stories, using the new historical and DNA research now available.
