Hubers Entdeckungen bildeten das Fundament für unser heutiges praktisches Bienenwissen. Seine Entdeckungen waren so revolutionär, dass die Bienenzucht sehr einfach in eine prä-Huber und eine post-Huber Ära unterteilt werden kann. Soweit mir bekannt ist, ist dieses wunderbare Buch seit der Ausgabe von 1867 nicht mehr in deutscher Sprache erhältlich gewesen. Anlässlich des zweihundertjährigen Jubiläums der französischen Originalausgabe von Huber im Jahre 1814 machte ich es mir zur Aufgabe, dies zu ändern. Diese Ausgabe enthält neue Kopien aus einem sehr gut erhaltenen Exemplar der französischen Originalausgabe Nouvelles Observations Sur Les Abeilles in zwei Bänden von 1814. Desweiteren wurden ein zusätzlicher Kupferstich aus Hubers Arbeit aus dem Buch von Cheshire. Außerdem wurden sieben Reproduktionen von Fotos von Hubers Bienenstöcken in Museumsqualität beigefügt. Alle Illustrationen wurden unterteilt und vergrößert und an der relevanten Textstelle eingefügt.
