Esta obra trata da formação de professores de Química, dentro de uma perspectiva de articulação entre as crenças, concepções epistemológicas e pedagógicas, estrutura curricular e a prática docente em Química. As reflexões trazidas aqui são resultantes de um trabalho de pesquisa com professores e alunos dos cursos de Química da Universidade Federal da Bahia no qual procurou-se conhecer as suas concepções epistemológicas, pedagógicas e visões de mundo com o objetivo de explicitá-las, estabelecer relações entre elas e o currículo instituído e encontrar elementos para a superação de obstáculos resultantes de concepções ingênuas. Os resultados da pesquisa apontaram a necessidade de aprofundar o debate epistemológico no curso com vistas a uma formação docente mais antenada com as questões contemporâneas relativas ao currículo, ao ensino e à formação de professores de Química. 10
