Este trabalho centra-se na utilização das redes sociais para melhorar a competência linguística e sociocultural dos estudantes do ensino superior. O objeto da investigação é o processo de aprendizagem de uma língua estrangeira através das redes sociais. O objetivo do estudo é explorar a forma como as redes sociais modernas podem ser utilizadas como uma ferramenta eficaz para desenvolver a competência linguística e sociocultural dos estudantes num contexto educativo. A tese inclui uma introdução, três capítulos, uma conclusão e três apêndices. O corpo principal tem 78 páginas, excluindo os apêndices. No total, foram utilizadas 56 fontes na investigação. O trabalho apresenta 9 tabelas, 36 imagens e 10 gráficos. O autor demonstra que a utilização das redes sociais contribui para a melhoria da competência linguística e sociocultural dos alunos.
