Uma investigação de dois anos (2020 a 2022) conduzida em Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh, Índia) na exploração IRS da Universidade de Agricultura, Tecnologia e Ciência Sam Higginbottom para avaliar o fator de resposta do rendimento, a eficiência da utilização da água, a pegada hídrica e a economia da mostarda (Varuna T-59), influenciados por diferentes abordagens de programação da irrigação. Foram consideradas três abordagens de programação da irrigação, ou seja, a condição de limitação da água no solo, o método climatológico e o método residual do balanço energético. A experiência foi desenhada em blocos ao acaso. Este trabalho de investigação incluiu 15 tratamentos com três repetições. Em condições de limitação de água no solo, o volume de rega é reduzido em 20%, 40%, 60% e 80% da profundidade de rega prevista (60 mm) no segundo, terceiro, quarto e quinto tratamentos, respetivamente. No entanto, no primeiro tratamento, a profundidade total de irrigação é fornecida sem qualquer stress.
