O cancro colorrectal é o terceiro cancro mais comum, tanto nos homens como nas mulheres. É provável que um em cada 14 homens e uma em cada 15 mulheres venham a desenvolver cancro colorrectal durante a sua vida. O cancro colorrectal é muito mais frequente nos países industrializados. Os hábitos de vida, nomeadamente a alimentação, desempenham um papel fundamental no desenvolvimento do cancro colorrectal. O estado nutricional dos doentes com cancro está sempre em causa, seja qual for o tipo de cancro. O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar o estado nutricional dos doentes com cancro colorrectal em Tébessa (Argélia) e identificar os factores de risco alimentares e ambientais. Foi realizado um inquérito transversal descritivo e analítico a 121 indivíduos (49 doentes com cancro colorrectal e 72 doentes de controlo).
