Synopsis: The problem is apparent. Children and teens are spending more time on their devices than ever before. This overuse leads to various issues, including physical inactivity, social isolation, and disrupted sleep patterns. More troubling are the rising rates of anxiety and depression linked to excessive screen time. These devices, intended to connect us, are creating a generation that feels more isolated than ever. My vision for this book is to foster stronger family bonds and healthier lifestyles. I plan to guide parents in creating an environment where technology is balanced with other enriching activities. By doing so, we can help children develop better social skills, improve their physical health, and enhance their emotional well-being. The title, 'Eyes Locked, Minds Lost; Screen Time Epidemic,' reflects this mission. It underscores the urgent need to address the screen-time crisis and its impact on children.Autobiography: My name is Dr. Sunnie Skiles, and I am a practicing pediatrician in California with 35 years of experience. I graduated from the UC Davis School of Medicine and completed residency at Phoenix Children’s Hospital and Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ. I have seen firsthand the significant changes in children’s behavior and health stemming from excessive screen use. With this book, I aim to guide you through these challenges and help to establish a healthier digital environment for your family. Dr. Skiles is the author of Real Food in a Processed World and a trusted voice in helping parents navigate today’s health challenges with clarity and confidence.
