The efficiency of the economic dynamics of the nations, be it GDP growth, exports, domestic development, and related works, is a relatively less explored topic in the academic literature. Several policies miss the efficiency feature in their framework. The ambitious Made in China 2025 has laid out a comprehensive plan for China to become a manufacturing hub in labour-intensive and high-end technological products and become the leading exporter in the world economy by 2049. However, the plan misses out on the efficiency of the present Chinese exports, which are dominated by merchandise commodity products. If China efficiently uses the resources at hand to expand its exports. In that case, more FDI will be invested in China, and manufacturing shall operate, resulting in maximum output and increased exports. The book explores the efficiency of China’s exports and the potential exports that China should have been exporting and compares them with the current actual exports, thereby giving the figures for China’s export efficiency in merchandise. Alongside the BRI, the concept of China’s Outward FDI is explored in analysing the impact of outward FDI on China’s export efficiency. China is a manufacturing hub, and with the idea of Export Efficiency, China should aim to be a manufacturing and export-efficient leader in the world economy.
