Ce travail a pour objectif principal de définir une voie pour contribuer à lutter contre l’impact de la sécheresse qui affecte couramment la région du Nordeste du Brésil, à travers l’exploration du potentiel hydrique souterrain des microrégions de l’État de Paraíba. Grâce à un vaste ensemble de puits forés ayant fait l’objet d’analyses physico-chimiques, de tests de débit et de géoréférencement, il a été possible d’étudier le comportement du profil de la qualité et de la quantité des eaux par microrégion, dans le but de concevoir un système de gestion de la distribution de l’eau pour les communautés qui n’ont pas accès à l’eau potable. Une étude a été menée pour répondre aux besoins de communautés dispersées comptant 50, 150, 250 et 300 familles, qui peuvent se trouver à une distance de 10 à 100 km de la source d’approvisionnement en eau. Grâce aux coordonnées des puits, utilisées comme source de données pour Google Earth, il a été possible de déterminer plusieurs itinéraires pour approvisionner les citernes de manière durable.
