Les violences sexuelles sur les personnes âgées font partie de la maltraitance des personnes âgées, laquelle peut prendre diverses formes. Elles sont considérées comme des violences invisibles qui existent dans nos sociétés mais qui demeurent encore sous-estimées. Les nations unies et plusieurs auteurs pensent que ces violences vont aller en progressant au fur et à mesure que l’espérance de vie augmente dans la population générale, ainsi font partie de problème de santé publique. Il existe encore peu d’études dans la littérature scientifique internationale. Nous n’avons pas retrouvé d’études françaises sur la question. Le travail présenté ici, bien qu’il ne porte que sur moins de 100 personnes examinées sur une période de 13 ans, constitue une étape vers une meilleure connaissance de ces situations.
