Z pewnej perspektywy podejścia semiologiczne można podzielić na dwie szkoły: te, które redukują wszystkie zjawiska do elementów semiologicznych i, zniekształcając rzeczywistość, nie dochodzą do prawidłowych wniosków; oraz te, które nie traktują wszystkich zjawisk jako elementów semiologicznych, a ponieważ ograniczają zakres semiologii, aby osiągnąć pełne zrozumienie badanych tematów, konieczne jest połączenie ich wyników z wynikami podejść niesemiologicznych, takich jak estetyka.Aby przezwyciężyć te niedociągnięcia, stworzyliśmy nową teorię zwaną 'evoquology'. Zgodnie z ewokologią, wszystkie postrzegane zjawiska są uważane za składające się z bytów zwanych ewokacjami. Prosta ewokacja składa się tylko z ewokatora, ewokowanego i relacji między nimi, która nazywana jest ewokacją. Ewokacje są podzielone na trzy kategorie, w zależności od rodzaju ewokowanego. Ewokologia może być postrzegana jako badanie interakcji między różnymi ewokacjami. Evocology jest ekscytującym, odkrywczym i wielowymiarowym opisem percepcji artystycznej.
