Based on a true story.A small town, second chance, and holiday love story. The family of three generations come together to celebrate Thanksgiving. Everything seems to be a competition. They engage in good natured trash talk while running in the annual Turkey Trot 5k. Even the preparation and consumption of the meal was an adventure. The grandparents tell the children what Christmas was like growing up in the 1950’s and 60’s as they trimmed the Christmas tree. That’s when a grandchild asks how they first met. Grandma likes to keep stories short and simple. Grandpa smiled; He is a teller of grand tales with a wee bit of exaggration. They worked together years before and, a chance meeting years later brought them together. He was a police officer and she was a medical secretary. Pam had a boyfriend but agreed to meet Jim but only as old friends and only for ice cream. It’s a story of iceskating and Christmas lights. Volunteering for special needs kids and sponsoring breakfast for area high school students They attend a tree lighting and play Santa and Mrs. Claus together. When they take a sleigh ride together, she begins to realize that this is a man who makes her feel special. The whole story comes together on Christmas Eve.All throughout the story the adult children are interupting with their wise cracks and snide remarks.
