Cela fait longtemps que le développement des parcs industriels a commencé en Éthiopie, mais jusqu’à présent, il n’a pas atteint la croissance escomptée. La plupart des constructions de PI visent à attirer les investisseurs étrangers plutôt que les investisseurs locaux. Les PI à construire doivent être bien organisés et les infrastructures doivent être complètes. Ils doivent avant tout mettre en œuvre une gestion de projet efficace, faute de quoi ils ne pourront pas être compétitifs à l’échelle mondiale. L’une des principales caractéristiques d’une gestion de projet efficace est la mise en œuvre d’une gestion systématique et formelle des risques liés au projet. Si le projet ne tient pas compte des aspects environnementaux et sociaux de la communauté, la durée des futurs projets de développement sera plus dangereuse. Pour résoudre ce problème, l’étude a inclus la communauté en prenant un échantillon de sa compréhension du parc industriel, et il s’est avéré que la plupart des employés et des gestionnaires de projet n’ont pas les connaissances et les compétences suffisantes en matière de gestion des risques de projet.
