Etnicidad y victimización busca debatir las condiciones en las cuales muchas personas en Colombia, América Latina y el mundo piensan su ser indígena en el contexto de la victimización y la reparación. La victimización de los pueblos indígenas hace confluir las políticas multiculturales, la vulnerabilidad y la ayuda humanitaria, que implican nuevas nociones de indigenidad y otras posibilidades de reconocerla y experimentarla. Este libro sigue los pasos de familias, comuni- dades y organizaciones indígenas wayúus en su búsqueda de justicia y reparación por la violencia que han sufrido a manos de paramilitares y de otros actores armados desde finales de la década de los noventa. ’Con fineza etnográfica, Pablo Jaramillo nos ayuda a entender cuáles son las nuevas posibilidades y condiciones de movilización estratégica de la noción de víctima articulada tanto a lo indígena como a su feminización. Indagando acertadamente en la larga historia de alianzas, encuentros y desencuentros y la relación entre las comunidades indígenas y el Estado y sus instituciones, el autor logra dar cuenta de que estas identificaciones son más bien un terreno movedizo, contingente y lleno de mediaciones. Esto lo lleva a analizar el presente por medio de una etnografía que arroja luces sobre las respuestas de estas comunidades a las interpelaciones del Estado humanitario y multicultural y las ansiedades que se generan por la mercantilización de la etnicidad y la gubernamentalización de la diferencia.
