A atividade farmacológica dos medicamentos à base de plantas deve-se aos seus constituintes químicos activos. O futuro das drogas vegetais depende da manutenção do controlo de qualidade/padronização, da credibilidade terapêutica, de resultados de investigação adequados e do empenho na investigação sobre drogas vegetais. Devemos misturar as nossas técnicas anteriores e modernas para o desenvolvimento futuro de medicamentos seguros e eficazes.
