O PHP é feito de latão com diâmetro externo de 3 mm e diâmetro interno de 2 mm. Os parâmetros foram escolhidos para a variação do diâmetro interno, aporte térmico, taxa de enchimento, fluido de trabalho e orientação do dispositivo. O estudo empregou óxido de alumínio (Al2O3) e nanofluidos de água como escolhidos como fluidos de trabalho, incluindo concentrações volumétricas variadas de nanopartículas de Al2O3 a 0,05%, 0,5% e 1%. Os experimentos são realizados nas orientações 0˚, 30˚, 45˚, 60˚, 75˚ e 90˚ com cargas de watts e entradas de calor variando de 0 a 100 watts. Os experimentos transitórios e de estado estacionário são conduzidos e as temperaturas operacionais são medidas usando termopares tipo T. O pacote comercial de CFD do ANSYS FLUENT R15.0 resolve as equações governantes. Os resultados revelam que a resistência térmica do óxido de alumínio e do nanofluido de água foi a mais baixa, 22% menor que a da água.
