O trabalho que realizámos é um estudo completo e aprofundado dos fumos libertados pela chaminé da turbina a gás do complexo GP2/Z.O objetivo era estudar as quantidades de gases emitidos pelas turbinas e analisá-los para determinar a extensão do seu perigo para o ambiente.Após a análise da quantidade de gases que saem das turbinas, verificámos que o gás que saía em grande quantidade era o monóxido de carbono (CO), pelo que se tornou o objeto do nosso estudo e o foco da nossa atenção através da nossa investigação sobre a forma de reduzir a sua emissão em grandes quantidades.Para reduzir as emissões de CO, concluímos que a solução mais eficaz consiste em efetuar uma modificação nas alhetas da câmara de combustão, que consiste em alterar o ângulo das alhetas no interior da câmara de combustão da turbina, e a aplicação desta solução resulta numa redução da quantidade de CO libertado pelas turbinas.
