As plantas medicinais são consideradas uma fonte essencial de matéria-prima para a descoberta de novas moléculas necessárias para o desenvolvimento de futuros remédios. Entre estas plantas, encontramos a Urtica dioica (L.), Pelargonium graveolens, Taxus baccata (L.), Artemisia herba alba asso, Dysphania ambrosioids (L.) e Daucus carota (L.) ssp. carota que têm várias actividades farmacológicas, tais como efeitos antibacterianos, antioxidantes, analgésicos, anti-inflamatórios, antivirais e anticancerígenos.No presente trabalho, interessou-nos valorizar estas plantas, colhidas na região de Meknes-Marrocos, através de diferentes análises, tais como: análise térmica e gravimétrica (ATD/ATG), cromatografia gasosa acoplada à espetrometria de massa (GC/MS), bem como o estudo da inibição da corrosão ecológica do aço em meio de ácido clorídrico 1M por extractos aquosos e etanólicos por gravimetria, eletroquímica, cromatografia líquida de alta eficiência (HPLC) e microscopia eletrónica de varrimento (MEB/EDX), e por outro lado a avaliação das suas actividades antioxidantes por dois métodos DPPH e CAT.
