Cuando se trabaja con niños y adolescentes en el área de la condición física, lo primero que alguien se pregunta es cómo puede conocer su nivel de aptitud física. ¿Serán individuos activos, con buena condición física? ¿Con qué test es posible verificarlo? Los tests seleccionados ¿están relacionados con la salud del alumnado? ¿Cómo interpretar e informar los resultados de dicha evaluación? Posteriormente, y tras la evaluación diagnóstica, sería coherente analizar cómo es posible mejorar o mantener el nivel de condición física de estos jóvenes para mejorar su salud. Aquí aparecen otras preguntas.¿Qué tipo de estrategias de ejercicio físico son las adecuadas con el objetivo de incrementar su nivel de condición física? ¿Qué estrategias se pueden utilizar para aumentar el tiempo diario dedicado a la actividad física?Se sabe que un niño inactivo muy probablemente se convierta en un adulto inactivo, lo que desafía a mostrarles a quienes los tienen a cargo algunos caminos para que los ayuden a salir del sedentarismo y a transformarse en personas activas, cada vez más por elección que por obligación. Este cambio de paradigma en los jóvenes es lo que se espera para tener adultos que elijan hacer actividad física toda su vida. 4
