Noch so spat wie 1933 schreibt PUGLIESE, daB noch keine einwand­ freie innere Sekretion bei den Evertebraten gefunden ware und auch keine Wirkung von Wirbeltierhormonen auf Wirbellose, weshalb der Verfasser vermutet, daB die Evertebraten die Hormone mit pflanzlicher Nahrung aufnahmen. Es ist auch korrekt, daB man in manchen Fallen bei Versuchen mit Vertebrathormonen auf Wirbellose negative Ergebnisse erhalten hat, von welchen ich aus den letzten Jahren die folgenden Beispiele mitteile (vgl. UVAROV 1928 und KOLLER 1929!): Verfiitterung von Thyreoidea auf Entwicklung von Drosophila, keine Wirkung (RES­ NICENKO 1927); Entwicklung und GroBe von Drosophila, keine Wir­ kung (DOBKIEWIECZ 1928); Entwicklung und Wachstum von Lymantria dispar, keine Wirkung (FLEISCHMANN 1929); Entwicklung von Vanessa io und Tenebrio molitor, keine Wirkung (HAHN 1929); Wachstum, Meta­ morphose und Artcharaktere von Anthrenus muscorum und Dixippus morosus wahrend dreijahriger Versuche, keine Wirkung (JANDA 1930), und schlieBlich Thyroxin auf Entwicklung von Drosophila, keine Wir­ kung (KOLLER 1932). Die Versuche mit einer Verfiitterung von Insektenlarven mit Thy­ reoidea haben also in den allermeisten Fallen ein negatives Ergebnis ergeben, wenn auch BRANNON (1934) bei Lucilia serrata unter gleich­ artigen Versuchsbedingungen einen beschleunigenden EinfluB auf die Metamorphose erzielte und ZAVREL (1930/31) bei Verfiitterung von so­ wohl Thyreoidea als Thymus bei Chironomidenlarven einen positiven EinfluB auf Entwicklung und Wachstum beobachtete. ZAVREL halt aber die beobachtete Wirkung fiir unspezifisch, weil sie sowohl mit Thyreoidea- als mit Thymusextrakten erhalten wurde.
