Die Landschaftsplanung hat sich seit Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts im Spannungsfeld der sehr unterschiedlichen Einflüsse von Naturschutz, Gartenarchitektur und räumlicher Planung entwickelt. Zwar haben sich die Inhalte und Aufgaben der Landschaftsplanung heute im Planungs-, Bau-, UVP- und vor allem im Naturschutzrecht niedergeschlagen, doch immer wieder lebt die Diskussion darüber auf, welche Bedeutung innerhalb der Landschaftsplanung dem Naturschutz, der Raumplanung oder der Landschaftsarchitektur zukommt. Das vorliegende Buch stellt den Entwicklungsverlauf der Disziplin synoptisch dar, wobei ein besonderes Augenmerk darauf gerichtet wird, der Vielfalt ihrer Ursprungsdisziplinen gerecht zu werden.
