En 1925, les physiciens Oskar Klein et Walter Gordon ont formulé une équation qui unit la mécanique quantique et la relativité spéciale. En étudiant les propriétés de la solution double de cette équation, le mathématicien Luigi Fantappiè a découvert que la solution positive est régie par la loi de l’entropie (du grec en=diverge, tropos=tendance), tandis que la solution négative est régie par une loi symétrique, qu’il a nommée syntropie (syn=converge, tropos=tendance). Fantappiè a réalisé que les propriétés de la loi de la syntropie (concentration d’énergie, différenciation, ordre et organisation), décrivent les qualités fondamentales des systèmes vivants. Cette intuition l’a guidé vers l’élaboration d’un modèle de vie simple, mais hétérodoxe. La loi de la syntropie montre que chaque être vivant a sa mission, ses finalités, qui, dans l’économie générale de l’univers, sont importantes, grandes et belles. Le but de cet ouvrage est de décrire les qualités et les implications, dans le domaine de la physique, de la psychologie et des sciences de la vie, des deux principes de l’entropie et de la syntropie.
