Dieses Buch beschließt das von der FernUniversität in Hagen angebotene GründerFernstudium. Es war das erste Studienprogramm seiner Art im europäischen Raum. Den Anstoß zu seiner Entwicklung gab der 1997 von der Bundesregierung ausgerufene Wettbewerb 'EXIST-Existenzgründer aus Hochschulen'. Nach einer Laufzeit von gut acht Jahren wurde es aufgrund struktureller Veränderungen eingestellt. In dieser Publikation sind die wichtigsten Stationen der Programmentwicklung und -durchführung einschließlich der entwicklungsbestimmenden Entscheidungen und deren Begründungen festgehalten. Da die Begründung auf der Grundlage der relevanten Literatur aus dem Bereich des Entrepreneurship erfolgte, gehen die Ausführungen in diesem Buch über einen bloßen Bericht hinaus. Sie leisten auch einen wissenschaftlichen Beitrag zur Entrepreneurship Education. Daher richtet es sich sowohl an Wissenschaftler als auch an Berater, politische Entscheidungsträger und Institutionen in der Gründungs- und Wirtschaftsberatung. 3
