Esta investigação-ação relata um estudo realizado numa escola secundária privada situada no sudeste do México. O objetivo era melhorar o desempenho dos alunos num teste de língua B2 através do reconhecimento de dispositivos coesivos aditivo-adversativos (enquanto, ao passo que, no entanto, por outro lado). Para o efeito, foi implementado um plano de ação num grupo de 16 alunos inscritos num curso de língua B2. Para avaliar o plano de ação, foram realizados testes pré e pós-fala, bem como entrevistas semi-estruturadas. Os resultados do pós-teste mostraram que a maioria dos participantes melhorou em termos de fluência e coerência. Além disso, durante as entrevistas, alguns alunos concordaram que os dispositivos coesivos visados foram úteis na organização do seu discurso oral. Os resultados do estudo contribuem para a literatura atual sobre o ensino de dispositivos coesivos ou marcadores discursivos de forma explícita nas salas de aula de línguas estrangeiras.
