A orientação dos aspectos engloba um conjunto de técnicas que melhoram a modularidade através das fases de desenvolvimento de software. Até agora, a orientação dos aspectos é mais conhecida como uma tecnologia ao nível da programação. Neste livro pretendemos contribuir para a compreensão da orientação dos aspectos nas fases iniciais dos requisitos e da concepção da arquitectura. Exploramos a ideia de que os artefactos de requisitos são mais bem compreendidos e as preocupações são mais bem separadas através da detecção de preocupações transversais com técnicas orientadas para um aspecto. Fornecemos uma visão geral sobre as primeiras abordagens aos aspectos, sobre os conceitos de orientação para os aspectos nos requisitos e ilustramos um método para uma melhor separação das preocupações nas mãos de um estudo de caso de uma loja de vestuário em linha. No conjunto, neste trabalho, apoiamos a noção de que a identificação precoce, descrição e documentação adequada dos aspectos melhora a especificação e análise dos requisitos.
